Why Privacy is the Ultimate Luxury

In our overcrowded world, a sense of one’s own space is harder to come by these days. Precious holiday time should, for the most part, be an escape from the maddening crowds. This luxury however is diminishing. With Europe overcrowded in the summer months, and hardly a space to even lay your towel on the beach, holidaying has become a stressor instead of a relaxant.

At Calabash, with just 36 suites across 8 acres, protecting your personal space is our goal. These are the ways in which we cultivate the ultimate privacy at Calabash:

A Beach to Yourself

Calabash is situated on one of the quieter beaches in Grenada. Protected within a calm bay, you’ll find for the most part that the beach feels almost completely private (and never a concern about sargassum seaweed). Residing over half of the beach, passersby are a rarity. Our beach loungers are purposefully spaced out throughout the beach, with the natural shade of trees offering further privacy. What’s more is that beach loungers are reserved for hotel guests only and we have more than enough for all our guests, so no need to get up early to reserve your spot.

Breakfast In-suite

Something for which we have come to be well-known for is our in-suite breakfasts, served on the privacy of your own balcony or verandah. Simply make your food and beverage selections the evening before along with the desired time and consider everything else taken care of. The splendour of having breakfast served on your own balcony is second to none for an undisturbed start to your day.

A Pool just for You

Our pool suites all come with a sizeable plunge pool situated at the back of your suite, all of which are totally enclosed for ultimate privacy. Complete with an outdoor bathtub, you can enjoy an early evening dip followed by a soak in the tub before your in-suite canapés arrive.

A space to yourself

It is typical now for even in the most luxurious of hotels to have your suite stacked on top of many others or looking immediately onto other suites. Our approach is the opposite, less is always more. We have spaced each suite a purposeful distance from each other in a horseshoe shape, so that your view always faces the open botanical gardens and extends towards the sea. And all of our suites are at most only two storeys high.

Never crowded

With only 36 suites over 8 acres, your stay at Calabash will never feel crowded. It is a rarity to house 3 restaurants for a small boutique hotel, but our desire is that our guests feel that they have the luxury of choice. We have also designed our shared areas so you are not crowded by buildings either to further encourage that sense of space and privacy.

The ultimate discretion

Prior to and during your stay at Calabash, we encourage you to share your personal preferences with us, all of which are treated with the ultimate discretion from the team at Calabash. We do our utmost best to ensure all of your wishes are taken care of, allowing you to have one less thing to worry about.
